Scottish Handball Association, operate various courses in the development of coaches and the sport. All coaches wishing to be licensed to coach under the SHA rules and regulations must be suitable qualified by undertaken qualifications.
Introduction to Handball courses
Young Leaders in Handball: This 6 hour course is a mix of theory and practical sessions – this can be done as a single course or split over a number of different sessions.
By the end of the course the participants will be able to deliver introduction to handball sessions within a school environment or after school clubs and support club sessions as assistants. As well as understanding the the coaching process.
PE and Coaching Practitioners Course
This 2 hour course is designed to provide teachers with the skills and knowledge to introduce handball into the school environment.
This is a practical course only.
Fundamentals of handball
This is a progression from the PE and Coaching practitioners course.
A 6 hour course that will go into further details with on developing the basic skills and knowledge as well as introducing the participant on how to develop these basic skills into a full 7 v7 Handball.
This course is a mixture of Theory and Practical elements.
Level 1 Handball
Level 2 Handball
This course as a UKCC certified course on the SQA Framework.
A 4 day course with a mix of Theory, Practical and Home tasks.
This course will support the development of the coaching process within club coaches and school teachers.
Supporting the development of the 6 phases of handball.
