GB suffer opening defeat at Women’s U17 European Championship

The GB under-17 women’s team lost its opening game 18-36 against Finland at the EHF under-17 Championship in Lithuania.
With all the players making their international debut, the GB team entered the game with a healthy mix of nerves and excitement.
GB battled well in the first 20 minutes pushing the more experienced Finnish team all the way. Finland switched to a more offensive defence in the last 10 minutes of the first half. The change yielded some success as Finland went into the break with a nine-goal lead

Livingston clinch the league title

On Saturday at Oriam Livingston won the league title for the first time in their history with a 31-27 win over local rivals Edinburgh. It was a tight match throughout but Livingston edged ahead in the last 10 minutes. They followed up this victory with a 34-24 victory over East Kilbride at the same venue. This meant they have went through the season unbeaten. This is a great achievement for the young team led by coach Allan Stokes. Livingston Edge Closer to League Title

Livingston were 29-26 winners over Tryst at Oriam National Performance Centre in Edinburgh tonight. The match was close throughout but Livingston managed to build a slight lead in the last 10 minutes of the match. The had a 4 goal lead with a few minutes left and managed to defend strongly at the end an keep Tryst to 1 goal. Livingston now have their league decider against Edinburgh on the 22nd of April at Oriam.

Tryst Women Win League and Livingston Men Remain Unbeaten

Tryst Women won the league with a comfortable victory over West Lothian and remain unbeaten for the season. Livingston Men had a 33-30 victory over East Kilbride at Ravenscraig Regional Sports Centre on Saturday. This keeps them on track for the title. They play one of their main challengers next, Tryst, on Monday 10th April at Oriam. If Livingston win then they edge closer to the title with only Edinburgh able to catch them. If Tryst win then this gives them an outside chance of becoming the champions.

Livingston win clash at Tryst

There were only 2 teams remaining unbeaten in the Men’s league before the weekend. These teams met on Saturday at Tryst sports centre in a very competitive match with a lot of young Scottish players involved in both teams. Livingston got a off to a quick start taking a 4-1 lead early on. Tryst gradually pulled it back to 4-4. Livingston Win Top of Table Clash

Livingston won on Saturday against Edinburgh in their top of the table clash at Oriam. The Livingston side started the match very quickly and caught Edinburgh cold. Taking a 4-1 lead early in the match. The Edinburgh side soon came to life and brought match back to 5-5. It then stayed close till half-time with a score of 13-12 to Livingston at the break.
